ESPASSO, the US specialists in contemporary and modern Brazilian design, have announced the launch of a dedicated showroom at 19 Greek Street, Soho, London, of their highly crafted design collection. Opening on 13 September 2012, it will coincide with London Design Festival, one of the most important events in the UK’s design calendar, for which ESPASSO will present a series of talks and events.

Committed to conserving Brazil’s rich 20th Century design heritage and promoting the work of today’s leading Brazilian designers, ESPASSO will present exquisite design pieces across two floors of the design gallery, 19 Greek Street, a new hub in London for craft, excellence and sustainability in design, which will present handpicked pieces from international design studios.

ESPASSO will bring to the UK the works of the designers it has become celebrated for in the US. Onsite will be exquisite works from the mid-century masters Sergio Rodrigues and Jorge Zalszupin, future classics by contemporary designers Carlos Motta, Etel Carmona, Arthur Casas, Claudia Moreira Salles, and Isay Weinfeld, as well as iconic re-edition pieces by Branco & Preto. Sitting alongside this main collection will be a selection of vintage pieces that will further highlight the heritage and importance of Brazilian design and culture.

The UK launch at 19 Greek Street will mark ESPASSO’s sole venue outside of the US where it has two showrooms - its inaugural location in New York and a second site in Los Angeles. Its choice of venue at 19 Greek Street reflects both companies’ passion and commitment towards finely crafted design and sustainable processes. The presence of ESPASSO in the UK heralds the importance of Brazilian design on an international level, showcasing its incredible quality and lasting appeal.
