Long flowing dresses in the fiery hues of a tropical island’s sunset as well as the colors of the sea in mermaid shape. The models wore their hair wet as if emerging along Aruba’s beaches carrying with them the creatures of the deep in large prints of asymmetrical colors and shapes.

The show was defined by flowing fabrics and prints along with more elegant and subdued pieces, in neutral shades and creams. The last piece finished the show with a more static and geometrical construction reminiscent of a sea oyster enclosing the model. To describe the show is to imagine the flowing fluorescence of the ocean meeting pure draped sunshine.

This collection featured very sheik and classy silhouettes. The Italian duo captured a bygone era of European class, making the models look elegant while they swayed down the runway to the steady strong beat of French electro. Great for a New York woman going out wearing something that was also suitable for work that day. A capture of elegance that’s wearable in regular life. The look of the models was all very neat, wearing top buns and high black heels, with feathers and sequins in abundance. The color had an elegant green and black theme, with some transparent draping.

Also, very pleased to see our friend, the famed videograpgher/photographer Richard Renda, covering the show. He attended our AsianInNY.com’s fashion show for the Chinese moon festival. Nice debut from Prete and Bruno.

The tradition continues today with a new collection of archival shoes and boots inspired by their original 19th- and early 20th-century designs. Authentic details, from burnished hardware to hand-distressed leathers and heels, give each loafer, oxford, chukka, and boot its time-worn, heritage charm.

Each of these classic, enduring styles is handcrafted in Martinsburg, Pennsylvania with patented signature leathers for an authentic look with rich, timeless character and flexible leather soles for incredible softness and comfort.

Key pieces in the collection include the printed silk cape, an abstract ombre wool poncho, neoprene sailor pants and silk asymmetrical tops. Different shades of purple are prevalent, from rich plums to vibrant bright tones, along with pops of lime green, seen throughout the collection in shirts, dresses and as a lining. An olive green “bubble” fabric adds a unique touch to bomber jackets and shirts.

Abstract ombre wool is used in bottoms, a poncho and jackets, as well as a houndstooth print in gray and purple, which create a new look for the signature EMERSON leggings. Black lace is also featured, including leggings, a slip, and lace detail on dresses. The collection also features black and gray denim, which is used for shirts, jeans and skirts.

The show featured shoes by Carlo Pazolini, hair by Zahir Ziani for Elizabeth Arden Red Door Spas, make-up by Andrea Helgadottir for Illamasqua, nails by Alisha Botero of Elizabeth Arden Red Door Spas for Illamasqua and music by Olivier Bobin and Yannick Grandjean (P.A.T.).

Celebrities/VIPs in attendance at the show included Shenae Grimes (90210), India De Beauforte (Jane by Design), Leigh Lezark (Model/Misshapes DJ), DJ Kiss, Eric West, Miss J Alexander, and more.

Inspired by the natural elements of Australia and Nordic fur trends, EMU Australia tells a tonal story with a wide-range of neutrals and subtle placements of earth-like colors including mushroom, red earth, clay, boysenberry and hedge green.

With a fresh directional focus on footwear design, EMU Australia presented an extended offering of women’s and men’s sheepskin and Nappa leather styles for this season. The collection incorporates textured leathers, stunning trims, and metal embellishments, lined with luscious Australian Merino sheepskin.
Inspired by the ever-changing landscape, the apparel collection represents the brands strong link to the Australian environment. The women’s range features luscious outerwear pieces including a double face sheepskin coat with a vintage Nappa finish and snow tipped long hair sheepskin vests and jackets. The Merino wool collection includes structural tailored pieces, hand felt chunky knits, and premium basics that are functional and enduring.

This season, EMU Australia introduced men’s apparel for the first time in their 15 year history. Classic and timeless design has been the key driving force for the collection with luxurious sheepskin and Nappa sheepskin coats, chunky Merino wool pullovers and sweaters as well as Merino wool jersey basics featured throughout.

The accessories collection consists of chunky knit scarves, earmuffs, gloves, mittens, beanies and hat styles made from the premium Australian materials including double face Merino sheepskin, Nappa sheepskin and luxurious Merino wool.

This is EMU Australia’s second season presented at Style360 during New York Fashion Week. The Argentina born designer’s collection began with elegant jackets or boleros paired with knee length skirts. The looks which were styled by celebrity stylist Kithe Brewster, at first glance, seemed prim and proper, with models accessorized with glasses, modest kitten heels, and hair styled in a high buns.

However, upon inspection, the designs emphasized the female figure with hourglass shaped jackets and cutouts that offered seductive flashes of skin. As the show progressed, there were more playful, revealing pieces in unexpected textures, such the rose-pink romper covered in silk embroidered flowers.

The materials that were used, embroidered tulle, taffeta, silk, wool crepe, silk organza, heightened the sense of luxury. The color palette was simple, with neutral off-white, black, champagne, rose-pink, earth green, and burgundy.

Victor De Souza’s looks reminded me of a modern day Audrey Hepburn, the perfect combination of classic and sexy.
