China Airlines Moves to Terminal 4 at New York JFK International Airport

Starting April 30, 2012, China Airlines flights to and from New York will operate from Terminal 4 at JFK International Airport, which offers passengers newer and more spacious facilities than the previous Terminal 1. Passengers will also enjoy more convenient ground services when boarding or transferring at Terminal 4, the designated terminal of SkyTeam airline alliance.

Given that Terminal 1 at JFK International Airport is near full capacity, China Airlines decided to move its arriving and departing flights to Terminal 4 to maximize synergies with SkyTeam, such as shared resources. Passengers reap the benefit of faster transfers between SkyTeam member airlines in the same terminal. When departing from Terminal 4, SkyTeam Elite Plus members can enjoy priority lines at security and use the KLM Oasis Lounge.

Terminal 4 provides 24-hour, round-the-clock services to passengers. China Airlines’ check-in counters are located at the second island counter of the second-floor departures hall, and they open for check-in three and a half hours before flight departure. The basement level of Terminal 4 contains a shopping mall of 29 brand stores and a food court of 24 restaurants, where passengers can shop and dine while enjoying Internet access. AirTrain at Terminal 4 provides convenient links to other terminals at JFK International Airport as well as Manhattan and Long Island.

In celebration of the “Linsanity” phenomenon created by Taiwanese-American NBA player Jeremy Lin, China Airlines is offering a Dynasty Package of five days and three nights in New York starting at NT$63,341, tax inclusive. The package includes one complimentary NBA basketball per room and makes it easier for Jeremy Lin fans to travel to New York to watch him in action.
