Greater Chinatown Community Association‘s summer SAT sessions will begin soon and they are offering a special $50 discount to anyone who signs up and mentions they heard about the courses from AsianInNY. Happy learning everyone!

Greater Chinatown Community Association’s classes are targeted for youth of Asian immigrated families by providing extra assistance on the reading and writing comprehension sections on the test, where English as a Second Language learners usually need more help.

Our hope is that by giving these students an edge in the SAT’s, we are also helping provide a bridge so they can attain their dream of attending a great college even when the family may not be able to spend thousands on such classes (which is the price that many similar summer programs cost).

GCCA’s popular Summer Intensive SAT courses are highly praised due to our excellent curriculum, demonstrated improvement in test scores and value. Courses are led by excellent teachers, feature a comprehensive study curriculum and have a track record of success. Because GCCA is a non-profit organization, they are able to offer these high quality classes at a minimum cost (about 1/2 or 1/3rd the price of comparable classes in the area!).

When: SAT classes Start July 2nd and run through August 17th. Hours are 10am to 2:30pm M-F with an hour lunch break from 12-1.

Where: GCCA Classroom at 105 Mosco Street.

What: Detailed instruction in reading and math will be provided on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Personalized tutoring, practice tests and drills will be provided Tuesdays and Thursdays. Also included is a free workshop on improving reading and writing skills.

Cost: This SAT course includes 35-classroom days as well as course book and other supplementary materials for $800. (The cost is $750 if you mention you are friends of AsianInNY!)
