TeamMets Sandy Relief Efforts

The New York Mets give thanks this upcoming Thanksgiving by remembering those who are still recovering from Hurricane Sandy.

The Mets have been assisting with the recovery effort both by visiting areas directly affected by the storm and helping emergency services personnel stage an operations center at Citi Field.

Today, Matt Harvey joined Mets staff at the United Methodist Center in Far Rockaway to serve 300 hot Thanksgiving meals to residents.

Bobby Parnell and Dillon Gee traveled to Breezy Point, Queens on November 14 to deliver brooms, shovels and bottled water after they helped collect food at the Mets and City Harvest Annual Food Drive presented by Hain Celestial.

Johan Santana and Mets COO Jeff Wilpon visited two sites in Coney Island – Our Lady of Solace Church and Coney Island Gospel Assembly – on November 13 to distribute boxed lunches and help support the Coney Recovers Movement (Coneyrecovers.org).
