Emergency crews are on the scene of an escalator accident at the Exchange Place PATH commuter rail station in Jersey City.

Port Authority spokesman Ron Marsico says four people were injured when the escalator malfunctioned Monday. The extent of their injuries is not known.

Marsico says officials don’t know what caused the escalator to malfunction.
