MANHATTAN INDIE BANDS ROCK ‘N’ ROLLIN FOR A LOUDER CAUSE

The “Rock for Hope” benefit concert by the Little Fir Foundation and with the special support from Barclays, has established its presence as an ongoing series increasingly embraced by the NYC indie-rock community. Taking place every few months at various live music venues, the “Rock for Hope” series is pleased to present its next charity event–“Rock for Hope VIII” at 6:00 PM on Saturday, June 1, at the Santos Party House, TriBeCa.

The performing bands for the program, which include—Sunny Desert, Black Lotus, the Underground Channel, Uzuhi, Aftershock and Torpid May, are dynamic and distinctly exciting on the one hand, but also have found themselves all deeply fused with Asian culture and heritage on the other.

“Since 2010, the Little Fir Foundation has acted as a responsible and an increasingly important organization in raising both funds and awareness for the education of financially challenged children in rural China,” said Zhao Cheng, board member of the Little Fir Foundation and a veteran organizer of the “Rock for Hope” series. “As a drummer myself, I am also proud of the unique platform that our concerts have created, for a more integrated thus more culturally understanding environment in our music community and beyond.”

Ticket is $15 each at the door. All proceeds from this concert will be used to sponsor scholarships for selected high school and college students in rural areas in China, for example—Shouxian, Anhui Province.
