McDonald’s is proud to announce the My Inspirational Story, a student video contest that celebrates the contributions of Asian Pacific American families in the New York Tri-State area. Students, ages 13 to 17, are invited to share their personal stories of how their families have inspired them to overcome adversity and pursue their dreams through a 3-5 minute video. The My Inspirational Story Student Video Contest provides a unique forum to recognize the unsung heroes of today’s Asian American youth and educate the larger community about the Asian American experience. Applicants must be legal U.S. residents, between the ages of 13-17 and reside in New York, New Jersey or Connecticut. Submissions must be original works between 3-5 minutes in length, contain no copyrighted materials and be produced in English or with English subtitles. The award levels are: 1st place – $1,500; 2nd place – $1,000; 3rd place – $500. Seven runner-ups each receive $250.

The My Inspirational Story Student Video Contest is just one of McDonald’s local Asian American community initiatives in the New York Tri-State area. Other programs include the upcoming Ronald McDonald House Charities® (RMHC)/ASIA Scholarship Program, which awards six $17,000 college scholarships to financially needy Asian American students from the New York Tri-State Area.
