RONALD McDONALD HOUSE CHARITIES®/ASIA SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM NOW ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS

Ronald McDonald House Charities New York Tri-State Area (RMHC-NYTSA) is proud to announce that the 2014 RMHC/ASIA (Asian Students Increasing Achievement) Scholarship Program is now accepting applications at www.rmhcnytristate.org.

The largest scholarship of its kind, the RMHC/ASIA Scholarship Program awards six students of Asian and Pacific Islander heritage from the New York Tri-State area up to $17,000 for their undergraduate studies. Now in its fourteenth year, the program has awarded over $1.3 million to date. The application deadline for the 2014 RMHC/ASIA Scholarship Program is January 21, 2014.

The RMHC/ASIA Scholarship Program is a multi-year scholarship that awards six students $5,000 for their freshman year, followed by $4,000 for each of the three following consecutive years for a total of $17,000 as long as they meet a required minimum GPA. The scholarships are distributed based on demonstrated academic achievement, financial need and community involvement.

“During these difficult economic times, Ronald McDonald House Charities New York Tri-State Area is incredibly proud to sponsor one of the leading scholarships in the Asian-American community,” said Christopher Perry, Executive Director of RMHC-NYTSA. “The RMHC/ASIA Scholarship Program distinguishes itself by not only selecting some of the best and brightest students, but also in selecting students who are inspiring positive change in their communities.” ‘)}
