2014 Outstanding 50 Asian Americans in Business Award

13th annual Outstanding 50 Asian Americans in Business Awards Dinner Gala was held on June 19th at Cipriani Wall Street in New York. The top award, the Pinnacle Award, was presented to Mr. Norman C.T. Liu, president and CEO of GE Capital Aviation Services (GECAS), and Mr. Vik Sawhney, Senior Managing Director at Blackstone and Chief Operating Officer of the Private Equity group.

This year, this award gala cumulatively has honored over 600 successful Asian Americans representing over 50 industries and professions. John Wang, president of AABDC, said, “The award honors individuals and serves to encourage the development of talent and leadership of Asian Americans.”

Outstanding 50 Asian Americans in Business Award honors a wide array of Asian ethnicities, including Bangladesh, China, India, Japan, Malaysia, Pakistan, the Philippines, Singapore, and Sri Lanka and Thailand. The honorees represent a microcosm of elite Asian American business owners, professionals and corporate executives. The award committee identifies and selects outstanding leaders who have built a successful business or who have distinguished themselves in their community. The Pinnacle Award recipients have reached the acme of their professional career and are widely acknowledged as leaders in their industry. The Asian Business Excellence Award recognizes a successful senior executive from an Asian company that has operations in the U.S. The executive will have has demonstrated vision, innovation, and management excellence in building the business to the top of its industry.

The event will also mark the 20th anniversary of the Asian American Business Development Center.
