CUNY’S CITIZENSHIP NOW! TO OFFER FREE LEGAL ASSISTANCE FOR DEFERRED ACTION FOR CHILDHOOD ARRIVALS (DACA) APPLICANTS

CUNY’s Citizenship Now!, which offers free, high quality, and confidential immigration law services to New York City’s immigrant community, will provide free legal guidance to qualified applicants for President Obama’s deferred action program.

CUNY Citizenship Now! will hold four free legal clinics scheduled in February and March on CUNY campuses to assist applicants with applying for Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA). Undocumented parents of U.S. citizens and permanent residents are also invited to attend so they may gather information and obtain a free and confidential consultation on the Deferred Action for Parental Accountability (DAPA) program.

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) will begin accepting expanded DACA applications in mid-February, and those who qualify for DAPA will be able to submit applications in mid-May.

CUNY Citizenship Now! will begin hosting the first DAPA clinic on Saturday, May 16th at John Jay College.
