Malan Breton Spring Summer 2016 Men's Collection

Designer Malan Breton presented his 2016 Spring/Summer 2016 Men’s Collection and also screened his award winning documentary film “A Journey to Taiwan” on July 14th at Taipei Economic and Cultural Office.

Malan Breton, the inspiration, for spring, is taken from a laid-back beach lifestyle, Malan’s love for the sport of surfing and the Hakka culture of Taiwan. The fabrics, and dying processes are kind to the earth and some of the garments are made in stone-washed silk, cotton, linen, and technofibre.

This season Malan uses seams, and techniques common in wet-suit construction, to create modern cuts for men in suiting, swimwear, underwear, and sportswear.

“A Journey to Taiwan”, won Best Short Documentary Film in May at NYCIFF. The film documents Malan Breton, his homeland, and the majestic landscapes that continue to be the inspiration for his fashion, in particular his Spring Summer 2015 collection entitled: A Journey to Taiwan presented in September 2014 at the prestigious Mercedes Benz Fashion tents at Lincoln Center.

Here, in this documentary, Breton lifts the veil on his recent and most uniquely inspirational trip to Taiwan, as he talks one to one about his knowledge of; his deeply intense love affair with the country of his birth. ‘)}
